Starbucks Rewards has announced major changes to its redemption rates. Beginning February 13, 2023, it will take more Stars to redeem for most products at Starbucks, including double the amount (from 50 to 100 Stars) to get any size hot coffee, tea or a bakery item.

Starbucks Rewards has announced changes to its redemption rates that will take effect on February 13, 2023.
Below are the new redemption rates.
- 100 Stars – One of the following items:
- Hot brewed coffee or hot steeped tea,
- Iced brewed coffee or iced brewed tea,
- Bakery item (such as a cake pop or cookie)
- Packaged snack (such as popcorn or potato chips)
- Cold Siren Logo Plastic To-Go Cup (24 oz only) or Siren Logo Plastic Hot Cup (16 oz only).
- 200 Stars – One of the following items:
- Any handcrafted beverage (such as a latte or Frappuccino blended beverage)
- Any hot breakfast item (such as a breakfast sandwich or oatmeal).
- 300 Stars – One of the following packaged products:
- Packaged salad or lunch sandwich
- Packaged protein box,
- Packaged coffee item (such as whole bean coffee). Packaged coffee availability may vary by store location.
Previous requirements that will be in place until February 13:
- 25 Stars: Drink modifications
- 50 Stars: Any size hot coffee, tea, or a bakery item
- 150 Stars: Handcrafted beverages (including iced coffee), oatmeal, or a breakfast sandwich
- 200 Stars: Lunch sandwiches, salads, or protein boxes
- 400 Stars: Packaged coffee or a single merchandise item up to $20

Bottom Line
Essentially, most items will cost more Stars to redeem, except for packaged coffee which cost 100 Stars less. If you don’t like these changes, be sure to redeem your Stars before the new redemption rates take effect.
