Gusto is offering a $100 Visa gift card to a new business customer who signs up through a current customer’s referral link, runs at least one paid payroll, and keeps the account active until the reward is issued.
This replaces the older MoneysMyLife Gusto article. Gusto’s current terms specify a Visa gift card for the referred business and a tiered $300 to $1,000 reward for the referrer, rather than the older Amazon gift-card structure.
Current Gusto Referral Offer
- New referred business: $100 Visa gift card.
- Qualification: Sign up through the unique referral link and run at least one paid payroll.
- Reward timing: Within 30 calendar days after the first paid invoice.
- Account status: Both the referrer and referred customer’s Gusto accounts must remain open when the reward is issued.
- Referrer reward: $300 for the first successful referral, $400 for the second, $500 for the third, $700 for the fourth, and $1,000 for the fifth and each later successful referral. These are separate, non-cumulative rewards.
- Expiration: The current public terms do not list a fixed end date.
How To Earn the $100 Gusto Gift Card
- Start through a current Gusto customer’s unique referral link.
- Create a new Gusto customer account and choose an eligible payroll plan.
- Add employees and complete payroll setup.
- Run at least one paid payroll so Gusto generates the first paid invoice.
- Keep the Gusto account open and active until the Visa gift card arrives.
If you have a referral link to share, please provide in the comments.
Gusto Costs and Limitations
- Gusto is a paid payroll and HR service. Pricing varies by plan and number of workers, so compare the subscription cost with the $100 referral reward.
- The referred business must be a new Gusto customer and use the referral link before signing up.
- A free signup alone is not enough. The business must run a paid payroll and receive a paid invoice.
- Gusto prohibits public posting of personal referral links on coupon, promo-code and cashback sites. Insert John’s link only if its use on MoneysMyLife complies with John’s referral agreement.
- Referral rewards may be taxable. The referrer may be offered ACH instead of a Visa gift card for rewards after the first successful referral.
Is the Gusto Referral Worth It?
I would only use this offer if Gusto already fits the business’s payroll needs. The $100 gift card can offset part of the initial cost, but it should not drive the decision by itself because Gusto is an ongoing paid service.
