Earning Asiana Club Miles

Compared to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Delta SkyMiles and other frequent flyer programs based in the United States, earning Asiana Club Miles doesn’t come as easily for Americans. That said, it’s got much more earning potential than Cathay Pacific Asia Miles and Turkish Airlines Miles & More. Let’s go over all the ways to earn Asiana Club Miles below.

Credit Cards

The best way for U.S. residents to earn Asiana Club Miles is through co-branded credit cards, issued by Bank of America. Choose from the personal Asiana Visa Signature Card or the Asiana Visa Business Card.

Other Ways

  • Booking your hotel stay directly with partner hotels.
  • Booking your rental car through Lotte, Rentalcars.com or Times.

There are more options to earn Asiana Club Miles, but they’re not relevant to those living in the United States.

Redeeming Asiana Club Miles

Asiana Club Miles are often used for award flights with Asiana and partner airlines. Click here, then Mileage Deduction Table, to determine the number of miles you need for a particular redemption.

You can also redeem for upgrades and fight extras, like lounge passes, extra baggage, paid seat services and more. Unlike most other frequent flyer programs, Asiana Club doesn’t offer merchandise or gift card redemptions.

Asiana Club Tips & Tricks

Best value awards. Asiana Club offers exceptional deals for off-peak awards between the United States and Korea on Asiana, and from the U.S. to Europe or Latin America on a Star Alliance partner.

U.S. TO KOREAU.S. TO EUROPEU.S. TO LATIN AMERICA

ASIANA CLUBUNITED MILEAGEPLUS

ASIANA CLUBAAdvantage
U.S. to Latin America in Business40,000 miles70,000 miles
U.S. to Latin America in First55,000 miles90,000 miles

Worst value awards. We don’t recommend redeeming for premium cabins on flights to Australia and non-Korean Asian destinations. They’re priced much cheaper with other frequent flyer programs.

Routing rules. You’re allowed two stopovers (one in each direction) or a stopover and a single open-jaw on award tickets.

Peak season. Be forewarned, peak season award tickets cost 50% more than off-peak.

Fuel surcharges. Also FYI, Asiana Club adds fuel surcharges to award flights, but they’re not unreasonably high considering its superior product and services.

Bottom Line

Asiana Club is a decent loyalty program with good earning potential and some of the best redemption rates for travel from the United States to Korea, Europe and Latin America. But if you’re looking to earn rewards towards travel to Australia or non-Korean Asian destinations, we recommend looking into Qantas Frequent Flyer or Korean Air SKYPASS instead.
