Earning S7 Priority Miles
Compared to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Delta SkyMiles and other frequent flyer programs based in the United States, earning S7 Priority Miles is not an easy task for Americans. Especially because S7 does not have any credit card or hotel transfer partners.
Here are all the ways you can rack up on S7 Miles:
Flights
Earn S7 Miles when you fly with S7 and the following partner airlines:
- Iberia
- Japan Airlines
- LATAM Airlines
- Malaysia Airlines
- Qantas
New S7 Priority members earn 500 bonus miles after checking into their first flight with S7 Airlines.
Other Ways
Other ways Americans can earn S7 Miles include:
- Purchasing pre-flight and on-board services.
- Booking accommodations with AirBNB or Booking.com.
- Booking car rentals with Avis, Rent-a-Car and Sixt.
- Booking excursions with Tripster.
- Shopping with S7 Priority retail partners and the S7 Shop.
There are more opportunities to earn S7 Miles, but they’re not as relevant to those living in the United States.
Redeeming S7 Priority Miles
Most S7 Priority members use their miles for award flights with S7 and partner airlines. You can also trade in your S7 Miles for:
- Pre-flight and on-board services, including upgrades, extra baggage, seat selection and more.
- Status miles.
- Charitable donations.
There are other ways to burn S7 Miles, but they’re not as applicable to United States residents.
S7 Priority Miles Expiration
S7 Miles are valid for the year you flew or used the service, plus the following two years. Miles will automatically extend if, in the last year of miles validity, you flew at least once with S7 Airlines. They can also be extended from 250 rubles for every 500 miles, but no more than 100,000 miles can be extended. Otherwise, you will lose your S7 Miles when they expire.
Please note, miles on children’s accounts do not expire until the child is 12 years old.
S7 Priority Tips & Tricks
Award booking quirks. Before you book your award flight, keep in mind the following:
- A cash ticket must be purchased before you can redeem miles.
- No stopovers are allowed.
- One-way awards cost more than 50% of roundtrip awards.
- Award flights have fuel surcharges.
- Partner awards cannot be booked online.
Family account. This feature lets you pool miles with up to eight family members. Whenever any member of your “family” earns S7 Miles, they automatically transfer to the family account. Together, you can earn miles faster and qualify for awards more quickly.
Oneworld Explorer awards. Take an epic trip around the world with up to 15 stopovers of your choice. This can squeeze a lot of value from your miles if you maximize the inclusions. Access as many as 1,000 destinations in more than 170 territories.
Promotions. Check the S7 Priority Special Offers page to stay up to date with promotions and news.
Bottom Line
S7 Priority provides limited ways to earn and burn miles. We suggest joining the S7 Airlines loyalty program only if you frequently travel within Russia or to Russia. If that’s not you, and you want to stick with a Oneworld airline, check out Qatar Airways Privilege Club. Amex Membership Rewards, Capital One Rewards, Citi ThankYou Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy all transfer to Privilege Club, so it’s easy to earn Qmiles.
