The Korean Air SKYPASS Visa Business Card has an offer for 30,000 bonus SKYPASS miles when you spend $3,000 within the first 3 months. I value these 30k points at around $510. This is a fairly decent bonus value for a card with a $95 annual fee.
The SKYPASS Visa Business credit card offers double miles at gas station and hotel purchases, in addition to Korean Air ticket spending. All other purchases will earn the typical 1 mile per dollar. The few perks that come with the card aren’t crazy good deals. But they’re still nice to have as a cardmember.
If you aren’t loyal to Korean Air, consider either another airline card or perhaps a general travel rewards card.
There are 4 SKYPASS cards to compare:
- SKYPASS Select Visa Signature Card
- SKYPASS Visa Signature Card
- SkyBlue SKYPASS Visa Card
- SKYPASS Visa Business Card (subject of this page)
*The SKYPASS Visa Business is issued by U.S. Bank, which also offers great sign-up bonuses for its Checking/Savings accounts.
SKYPASS Visa Business Card 30,000 Bonus Miles Offer
Take advantage of the SKYPASS Visa Business card’s 30,000 SKYPASS bonus miles offer. My valuation puts these points at around $510 (more on that below).
To qualify, charge at least $3,000 to your card within the first 90 days of opening your account.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What Are SKYPASS Miles Worth?
Like many other airline-branded credit cards, your miles’ worth depends on how you use them. Do flight searches for different class cabins and with different Korean Air partners to see how you can get the most value with your miles. On average, a SKYPASS mile is worth $0.017. Using this figure, 30k points have an approximate $510 value.
You can use your SKYPASS miles towards:
- Flights (Korean Air, SkyTeam partners, non-SkyTeam partners)
- Upgrades (Korean Air, SkyTeam partners)
- KAL Lounge access
- Excess baggage (Korean Air)
- Hotel stays
- Car rentals
- KAL limousines
- Coatroom service
- Visits to Jeju Folk Village Museum
You’ll get the most value for your SKYPASS miles if you use them for flights with Korean Air or a partner airline. Redeeming your rewards this way is not going to be a walk in the park. But the extra grunt work will be well worth it.
Korean Air is part of the SkyTeam member airline alliance. Use your miles for flights and upgrades with these partners.
There are several other non-SkyTeam partner airlines you can use your miles for flights with.
SKYPASS Visa Business Card Top Features
Take advantage of these Korean Air perks every year:
- A $50 coupon towards a Korean Air ticket purchase
- 2 KAL Lounge coupons
Each year, you’re eligible to receive 2,000 SKYPASS bonus miles. To qualify, renew your card and pay the $95 annual fee.
Make purchases abroad without worrying about foreign transaction fees with the SKYPASS Visa Business Card.
The SKYPASS Visa Business Card is a decent airline-branded credit card. It’s best feature is the ability to earn double points on gas stations and hotel stays, in addition to the bonus points on Korean Air ticket purchases. Otherwise, this business rewards card doesn’t offer a whole lot of valuable extras.
If you don’t fly Korean Air too often, then consider another co-branded airline card or a general travel rewards card instead.
