Earning Fortune Wings Club Points

Compared to Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Delta SkyMiles and other frequent flyer programs based in the United States, earning Fortune Wings Club Points is not an easy feat for Americans. Let’s go over all the ways to rack them up below:

Transfer Partners

The best way to earn Fortune Wings Club Points is through transfer partners. Marriott Bonvoy members can convert their points to Fortune Wings Club Points at a 3:1 ratio. Plus, for every 60,000 Marriott points you transfer, you’ll earn a bonus of 5,000 Fortune Wings Club Points.

Flights

Earn Fortune Wings Club Points when you fly with Hainan Airlines and the following airline partners:

  • Alaska Airlines
  • Capital Airlines
  • Etihad Airways
  • Fuzhou Airlines
  • Grand China Air
  • Guangxi Beibu Gulf Airlines
  • Hong Kong Airlines
  • Lucky Air
  • Suparna Airlines
  • TAP Air Portugal
  • Tianjin Airlines
  • Urumqi Air
  • Virgin Australia

Other Ways

Other ways that U.S. residents can earn Fortune Wings Club Points include:

  • Booking accommodation with hotel partners, including Booking.com, Expedia, IHG, Radisson and Shangri-La.
  • Booking car rentals with Hertz.

There are more options to earn Fortune Wings Club Points, but they’re not relevant to those living in the United States.

Redeeming Fortune Wings Club Points

Fortune Wings Club Points are often used for award flights with Hainan Airlines and partner airlines. They provide a Points Calculator to easily determine the number of points you need for a specific redemption.

You can also redeem for:

  • Upgrade coupons
  • Accommodations
  • Car rentals

More redemption options are available, but they’re not applicable to Americans.

Fortune Wings Club Points Expiration

Fortune Wings Club Points expire after 24 months. You can extend the expiration date by earning more points.

Fortune Wings Club Tips & Tricks

Award charts are based on flight distance in kilometers, not miles. The key is to find city pairs that fit at the higher end of Fortune Wings Club bands: 0-500, 501-1000, 1001-1500, 1501-2000, 2001-3000, 3000+.

Avoid award redemptions with Etihad Airways and TAP Portugal. The fuel surcharges are ridiculous, so you won’t be saving much, if at all.

Bottom Line

Fortune Wings Club isn’t the most valuable frequent flyer program, but it does offer an easy way to “earn” points by transferring from popular rewards programs, like Marriott Bonvoy, Hilton Honors and IHG Rewards Club. That said, Fortune Wings Club has a limited number of airline partners, so you’re also limited when it comes to redemptions.

You might also want to consider EVA Air Infinity MileageLands. Based in Taiwan, EVA Air is a Star Alliance member and boasts many airline partners.
