Waive The Monthly Fee

• One Deposit Checking Account: $300 Bonus, comes with a $9.99 monthly fee, which can be waived by making just one deposit each statement period.
• Citizens Quest Checking: $500 Bonus, has a $25 monthly fee that can be waived by either making $5,000 in total deposits to the primary checking each statement period or maintaining $25,000 in monthly combined deposits and investments.
• Citizens Private Client: $1,000 Bonus, requires maintaining $200,000 in combined deposits and investments to qualify for the bonus.

Fine Print

• To earn a $300 Checking bonus, open a new One Deposit Checking, Citizens EverValue Checking, or Student Checking account. Have at least one direct deposit of $1000 or more post to the account within 60 days of opening.
• To earn a $500 Checking bonus, open a new Citizens Quest Checking account between 8/4/23 and 8/19/23. Have at least one direct deposit of $5000 or more post to the account within 60 days of opening.
• To earn a $1000 Checking bonus, open a new Citizens Private Client Checking account between 8/4/23 and 8/19/23. Have at least one direct deposit of $5000 or more post to the account within 60 days of opening.
• Qualifications: The primary signer on the new checking account must not have been a signer on any Citizens personal checking account within the previous six months. The new checking account must have a positive balance and remain open and active until the payout date (December 31, 2023) to qualify for the offer. Direct Deposit must be recurring income electronically deposited into the Citizens checking account.
• Credit Card eligibility: The cardholder on the new credit card must not have been a signer on any other Citizens Credit Card within the previous six months.
• Offer eligibility: The offer is available only in select Citizens branches. Only one checking account and one credit card are eligible for a bonus. Offers may be withdrawn without notice and cannot be combined with any other checking offer. Offer eligibility is at Citizens’ sole discretion.
• Payout: The Checking and Credit Card bonuses will be paid separately and deposited to the new checking account by December 31, 2023, labeled as “Balance Builder Bonus” and reported to the IRS for income tax purposes. All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and are subject to taxes.

Bottom Line

• The $300 bonus might not be appealing since there is a $400 online offer with similar requirements.
• The $1,000 bonus may not be attractive to many as it requires tying up $100,000 to qualify.
