The World Wildlife Fund is a leading organization with a mission to protect endangered species. This co-branded credit card is designed for consumers who want to earn rewards while contributing towards wildlife conservation.
Like the Bank of America Cash Rewards credit card, the World Wildlife Fund card gives you 2% cash back at grocery stores and wholesale clubs, and 3% cash back in a category of your choosing. Both cards also offer relationship bonuses for BoA Preferred Rewards clients.

World Wildlife Fund Credit Card $200 Bonus Cash
Take advantage of the World Wildlife Fund Credit Card’s introductory offer: $200 bonus cash posted to your rewards balance. To qualify, charge at least $1,000 to your card within the first 90 days of opening your account.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
Earning World Wildlife Fund Cash Rewards
If you spend wisely, the World Wildlife Fund credit card has the potential for valuable rewards, but its rewards structure is complicated.
The highest rewards rate – 3% cash back – will be the category of your choosing. Select one from the following six options:
- Online shopping
- Home improvement and furnishings
If you fail to choose a category, the card’s default 3% category is gas. Grocery store and wholesale club purchases make up the 2% category. And you’ll earn unlimited 1% cash back on all other purchases.
Unfortunately, your rewards at the 2% and 3% rates are capped at the first $2,500 in combined spending every quarter. Beyond that threshold, the rewards rate drops to 1% for every purchase.
If your spending habits change, you’re welcome to update your choice category for future purchases once a month using the mobile banking app or the banking website.
BoA Preferred Rewards Members Bonus
Enroll in Bank of America Preferred Rewards and enjoy a 25% to 75% rewards boost on every purchase. For example, a $100 purchase that earns 3% ($3.00) will actually earn $3.75, $4.50 or $5.25 based on your tier at the time the purchase posts to your account.
To qualify for the Preferred Rewards program, you must:
- Have an active BoA personal checking account or an Advantage Banking account, and
- Maintain a 3-month average combined balance in your BoA accounts and/or your Merrill Edge and Merrill Lynch investment accounts.
|Tier||Qualifying Combined Balance|

Enrolled Preferred Rewards clients receive a bonus of 25% for the Gold tier, 50% for the Platinum tier or 75% for the Platinum Honors tier.
Redeeming World Wildlife Fund Cash Rewards
Redeem your cash rewards for any amount at any time for:
- Statement credits
- Deposits made directly into a BoA checking or savings account
- Credits to eligible Merrill Lynch or Merrill Edge accounts
You may set up automatic redemptions into an eligible Bank of America, Merrill Lynch or Merrill Edge account, starting at $25.
World Wildlife Fund Support
Keep your World Wildlife Fund credit card open for at least 90 days, use it to make one transaction, and BoA will donate $3 to the organization. On top of that, the non-profit gets 0.08% of all retail purchases charged to the card. Plus $3 every time you renew your account, as long as it doesn’t have a zero balance.
There aren’t many no-annual-fee cards that offer a $200 welcome bonus. Nor are there many cash back credit cards that let you choose your own 3% bonus category every month. With broadly-defined ones like online shopping, you should find it easy to maximize your 3% bonus rewards.
If you qualify for the Preferred Rewards program, you can boost your earnings from the standard 3% up to 5.25% by keeping large balances with Bank of America or Merrill Lynch.
But there’s a catch. There’s a relatively low ceiling on the rewards you can earn at the combined 3% and 2% rates. Because of this limit, the World Wildlife Fund credit card may not be a good option for big spenders.
If you want big rewards to match your big spending, you have plenty of other options.
