The JetBlue Plus Credit Card has an offer for 70,000 TrueBlue bonus points when you spend $1,000 within the first 90 days. We value these points to be worth around $910. Read our guide to the TrueBlue program for more information on how to redeem those points. With an annual fee of $99, the welcome offer will cover the card’s cost for five years. See our list for more card offers including the bonus from the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card.
The JetBlue Plus card rewards members with 6x points on JetBlue spending, 2x points on dining and grocery purchases and 1x points on everything else. It also offers a variety of value-added benefits, like 5,000 anniversary bonus points, one free checked bag for you and up to 3 companions, and a 50% discount on eligible inflight purchases.
If you frequently fly with the airline, you’ll want to have a serious look at JetBlue Plus. But if you don’t travel with the carrier often, then you might want to check out the no-annual-fee JetBlue Card instead.
*The JetBlue Plus card is issued by Barclays. Barclays also offers great sign-up bonuses for its Checking/Savings accounts.
JetBlue Plus Card 70,000 Bonus Points Offer
Take advantage of the JetBlue Plus card’s 70,000 TrueBlue bonus points introductory offer. My valuation puts these points at around $910 (more on that below).
To qualify, charge at least $1,000 to your card within the first 90 days of opening your account.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What Are TrueBlue Points Worth?
Like many other airline-branded credit cards, the value of your points depends on how you use them. On average, each TrueBlue point is worth $0.013. That’s a decent value considering different rewards cards offer an average of $0.01 per point.
You can use your TrueBlue points for:
- Flights and seat upgrades with JetBlue
- Flights with Hawaiian Airlines
- JetBlue vacation packages
- Magazine & newspaper subscriptions
- Donations to charities
Unlike many airline loyalty programs, TrueBlue offers great value for all its redemption options. No matter what you use your points for, your rewards are worth more than $0.01 per point.
JetBlue Plus Card Top Features
Automatically earn 5,000 TrueBlue bonus points every year on your account anniversary, just for being a cardmember. That’s a value of $65, $34 shy of the card’s annual fee.
First checked bag free. You, and up to 3 of your travel companions, get your first checked bag for free. On JetBlue and on the same reservation, of course.
Inflight savings. Get a 50% discount on meals, cocktails, beer and wine on JetBlue-operated flights. Unfortunately, the discount does not apply to other inflight purchases like pillows, earphones or upgraded seats.
Get $100 in statement credit every year when you buy a JetBlue Vacations package for at least $100.
If you spend at least $50,000 on your card in one calendar year, you’ll get to enjoy TrueBlue Mosaic benefits. For the rest of the year and all of the following year. This badge gives you:
- 15,000 bonus points
- 3x bonus TrueBlue points on JetBlue flights
- 2 pieces of free checked luggage for everyone on your reservation
- Access to an expedited security line
- Early boarding
- Complimentary alcoholic beverages during flights
- No change fees and no cancellation fees
- A dedicated customer service line
This feature lets you combine TrueBlue points with other members at no extra cost. So you can earn points easier and faster. “Families” max out at 2 adults and 5 children. At the very least, there must be 2 people in a Family Pooling account.
Make purchases abroad without worrying about foreign transaction fees. Although this perk is more common nowadays, it’s still worth noting.
The JetBlue Plus credit card offers a lot of overall value. If you frequently travel with the airline, you’ll likely cover the card’s $99 annual fee on reward travel alone. The card becomes a bargain if you take full advantage of all its benefits.
The JetBlue Plus card is an excellent option for loyalists to the airline. But if you don’t tend to fly with JetBlue, you might want to consider a general travel rewards card instead.
