Chase and United Airlines have unveiled a co-branded credit card: the United Quest℠ Card. The card is offering 80,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months of account opening. We value the combined 80k bonus miles at around $1,120.
Those with the discontinued United Platinum Class Visa Card got their old card swapped for the new United Quest℠ Card on March 21, 2021. The new card joins the United Gateway℠ Card, the United℠ Explorer Card and the United Club℠ Infinite Card in the United MileagePlus co-branded family of cards.
The United Quest℠ Card comes packed with benefits, which more than offset the card’s hefty annual fee. For all the nitty-gritty details on the new United Quest Card, keep reading.
The United Quest℠ Card is issued by Chase Bank. Chase also offers great sign-up bonuses for their Checking/Savings accounts.

Need help meeting the spending requirement? Here are some ideas.
What Are MileagePlus Miles Worth?
Like many other frequent flyer programs, the value of your miles depends on how you use them. A MileagePlus mile can be worth as little as $0.005, or as much as $0.021. On average, we value each MileagePlus mile at around $0.014. Using this figure, the 80,000-mile bonus would be worth around $1,120.
You can redeem your MileagePlus miles for:
- Flights and upgrades with United Airlines and Star Alliance partners
- Travel, including hotel stays, car rentals and cruises
- Enhanced travel, like United Club membership, WiFi and more
- Gift cards
- Magazine and newspaper subscriptions
To get the most value for your miles, redeem them for flight and seat upgrades on United and Star Alliance partners. All other redemption options often end up with a per-mile value of less than $0.01.
And just FYI, your MileagePlus miles don’t expire as long as your account is open, so you can take your time and save your miles for the award of your dreams.
Issuers often change card benefits to mirror consumer behavior, their competitors, and – applicable to 2020 – a worldwide pandemic. Not only will United Platinum Class be laid to rest, but cardholders have transitioned to the United Quest℠ Card. The new product carries a variety of worthwhile benefits, along with strong bonus categories. Quest is a good fit with United frequent flyers who will not only take advantage of the card’s perks, but will also find it easy to offset the $250 annual fee.
