Lambda School (lambdaschool.com) is an online coding and tech education provider that offers courses in data science and full stack web development. What makes them stand out from other online schools is that Lambda does not charge tuition…at least not until you score a job that pays at least $50,000 a year. Keep reading for the lowdown on Lambda School.
Lambda School 50% Off Tuition
Applicants who wish to pay upfront rather than sign an Income Share Agreement (ISA) will receive a 50% discount on tuition.
*Not available to CA, TX, DC, and GA residents.
Pay No Tuition Until You’re Hired
Lambda School lets students defer tuition payment until after you start making an annual income of $50,000 or more. Monthly payments depend on how much you earn (more on this below).
Lambda School Tuition
Lambda School tuition varies, depending on where you live:
- $30,000 for students in California, Georgia, Texas and Washington D.C.
- $15,000 for students in all other states and abroad.
To make it accessible to students from a wide range of financial profiles, Lambda School offers several tuition options:
Upfront Tuition. Pay your tuition fees by the enrollment deadline for your cohort. You can choose to make multiple payments toward the total amount, as long as it’s paid in full by the date in the invoice. Payments can be made via ACH, wire transfer or check.
Tuition Installments. Pay tuition upfront, in three installments. The amount and payment schedule will vary depending on the state you live in.
Income Share Agreement (ISA). This is a form of deferred tuition where you agree to pay 17% of your post-Lambda School salary for 24 months, but only if you make more than $50,000 a year (or $4,166.66 per month). The ISA maxes out at $30,000, so you’ll never pay more than that. This agreement kicks into gear when you work in a “Qualified Position,” which is any field related to your Lambda School studies…not necessarily directly associated with the track you were in. If you never get hired, you never pay.
California Retail Installment Contract (CA RIC). California residents can opt to defer tuition until you get a job making $50,000 a year. This tuition option is very similar to the ISA, but the big difference is that a CA RIC will continue until you’ve paid $30,000. Even if it takes longer than 24 months.
Lambda School Courses
Lambda School offers part-time (one year) and full-time courses (six months) in Data Science and Full Stack Web Development. All classes are live and online. In order to graduate, you must have at least 95% attendance.
Bottom Line
Lambda School provides online tech education in data science and full stack web development. You don’t have to pay any fees upfront, and you can opt to defer tuition until you get a good-paying job.
