The Disney Premier Visa Card offers decent rewards rates on gas, grocery and dining expenses, but the card’s perks don’t seem to outweigh its $49 annual fee. You get most of the same Disney-specific benefits on the regular Disney Visa Card without having to pay a fee every year.
But the Disney Premier Visa does give you a better welcome bonus: $300 as a statement credit when you spend $1000 within the first 3 months. This is a solid introductory offer considering other cards with similar annual fees.
If you have no interest in the Disney perks, definitely consider a different card.
*Disney Premier Visa is issued by Chase Bank. Chase also offers great sign-up bonuses for its Checking/Savings accounts.
Disney Premier Card $300 Bonus
Take advantage of the $300 bonus offer. You’ll need to charge at least $1000 to your card within the first 3 months of opening your account.
This bonus comes in the form of a statement credit. It’s not the best welcome offer out there, but it’s a decent one considering the card’s annual fee.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What Are Disney Rewards Dollars Worth?
The value of 1 Disney Rewards Dollar is $1. In order to redeem, you must have at least 20 Disney Rewards Dollars.
Use your Disney Rewards Dollars toward almost anything Disney and Star Wars at most locations, including:
- Theme Park tickets
- Resort stays
You can also redeem Disney Rewards Dollars for statement credits toward airline travel.
Disney Premier Card Top Features
Disney store. Get a 10% discount when you use your Disney Premier card at Disney stores (physical and online). This might seem like an amazing offer, but most popular items are not eligible for the discount.
Resort merchandise. Receive 10% off select merchandise purchases of $50 or more at select locations at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Resort dining. Get a 10% discount off select dining locations most days at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Guided tours. Receive 15% off the non-discounted price of select tours at Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Meet Disney and Star Wars characters away from the crowds and the general public at a private location in Walt Disney World and Disneyland resorts. Complimentary photo downloads included.
Because of the $49 annual fee, I would only recommend the Disney Premier Visa to hardcore Disney fans. Before signing up, you should ask yourself if you would take advantage of the Disney-specific perks. Also, the no-annual-fee Disney Visa Card will have the same Disney perks. It doesn’t have the 2% rewards rate on select categories or the ability to redeem towards airline travel.
If your family isn’t that into Disney, consider a general travel rewards or cash back credit card. Both have a wider range of benefits.
