The American Express EveryDay Credit Card has Membership Rewards bonus points as an introductory offer. As with many other bonus offers from American Express, this one for the EveryDay Credit Card often updates. We’ve seen it range from 10,000 to 25,000 bonus points as of late. It just depends on the marketing protocol from Amex. Generally, you’ll find the best offer by initially going directly through their website.
As the name implies, the Amex Everyday card is meant to be used as an everyday rewards card. It offers bonus points at U.S. supermarkets on up to $6,000 in purchases a year.
If you want more bang for your buck and don’t mind paying $95 a year, check out other version of the Amex EveryDay card – the American Express EveryDay Preferred Credit Card.
|Bonus available||Earn 15,000 bonus points after you make at least $1,000 in purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. Offer updates often.|
|Ongoing rewards/benefits||Get 2 points for every $1 spent at U.S. supermarkets (on up to $6,000 per year in purchases) and 1 point for every $1 spent on all other eligible purchases. |
Receive 20% extra points when you make 20 or more purchases in 1 billing period.

Amex Everyday Card 15,000 Bonus Points Offer
Take advantage of the Everyday card’s 15,000 Membership Rewards bonus points offer. My valuation puts these points at around $300 (more on that below). Remember, offers for this card tend to change often.
To qualify, charge at least $1,000 to your card within the first 3 months of opening your account.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What Are Membership Rewards Points Worth?
Like many other rewards cards, your points’ worth depends on how you use them. On average, one Membership Rewards point is worth up to an average $0.02. That’s an excellent value considering the average across different rewards cards is just $0.01 per point.
When it comes time to redeem your Membership Rewards points, you have a variety of options, including:
|Travel via Amex or Expedia||$0.005 – $0.01 / point|
|Transfer to travel partners||Varies by partner|
|Statement credits||$0.006 / point|
|Merchandise||Varies by retailer|
|Unique experiences||Varies by venue|
|Gift cards||Varies by retailer|
The best way to use your Membership Rewards points is to transfer them to one of 20+ travel partners. Use this strategy to get up to an average 2 cents per point in value. You’ll have to spend time searching for different booking scenarios with the transfer partners. But, you’ll thank yourself in the end.
Amex EveryDay Card Monthly Bonus
Like the Amex EveryDay Preferred Credit Card, the Amex EveryDay card comes with a bonus if you make a certain number of purchases within a billing period. Earn a 20% bonus on points if you make 20 or more purchases during one statement cycle.
With the monthly bonus, you’ll essentially be earning:
- 3.6X points at supermarkets
- 1.2X points everywhere else
That’s pretty good earning potential. Make one purchase a day, five days a week for 4 weeks, and you’ll hit the monthly bonus requirement.
The Amex EveryDay Credit Card is a good fit for people who spend a lot of their budget on groceries and make many purchases every month. Plus, it doesn’t cost you anything to have in your wallet.
But if you’re looking for better earning potential, consider the Amex EveryDay Preferred card instead.
What’s The Competition?
Below are some of the top competitors to the Amex EveryDay credit card you should consider.
Your spending trends will determine whether a general rewards or category rewards card will be a better fit. Good no-annual-fee alternatives include the Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card, Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited, and the Capital One Quicksilver Cash Rewards Credit Card.
