Easy Checking: $3 monthly checking maintenance fee waived with one direct deposit credited to the account per month or four (4) or more point of sale (POS) purchase transactions per month; and 

Safeguard Checking: $8 monthly checking maintenance fee with eStatements, or $10 monthly maintenance fee with paper statements. Monthly maintenance fees are waived for any checking account if primary owner is 24 years of age or younger.

Fine Print

• The participant must not have had an RFCU checking account within the past 24 months.
• The participant must notify RFCU of the referral code at account opening.
• RFCU membership eligibility and opening a share savings account are required to become a member.
• A $5 minimum balance is required to open and must be maintained in share savings account at all times.
• A $25 minimum opening deposit required to open checking account.
• Monthly maintenance fees may apply to checking accounts – fees waived for account holders 24 year and younger.
• Business accounts are not eligible.
• Limited to one checking bonus per participant and cannot be combined with any other checking offers.

Bottom Line

A small bonus but it doesn’t require a direct deposit so it might be worth your time. The offer was previously $50 for each party.
