The Citi Rewards+® Card offers 15,000 ThankYou points as a welcome bonus after you spend $1,000 in purchases with your card within 3 months of account opening. These bonus points are worth $150 in gift cards via thankyou.com. I’ll explain below how they could be worth up to an average $255.
The Citi Rewards+® Card offers higher rewards at supermarkets and gas stations. Plus, you’ll earn at least 10 points for every purchase via a unique points round-up benefit. It’s a solid everyday rewards card, especially if you tend to make many small purchases.
If you’re looking for a no annual fee card for less than $6,000 in supermarket and gas station spending, the Citi Rewards+® Card is a good option. Bigger spenders will have better options available. For no-annual-fee cash back card, see the Citi® Double Cash Card.
*The Citi Rewards+® Card is issued by CitiBank. Citi also offers great sign-up bonuses for their Checking/Savings accounts.

Citi Rewards+® Card 15,000 Bonus Points
Take advantage of the 15,000 ThankYou bonus points offer. All you have to do is charge at least $1,000 to your card within the first 3 months of opening your account.
15,000 ThankYou points has a value of $150 with the standard redemption options. Although not the best bonus offer on the market, it’s a decent one for a no-annual-fee card. See the next section on how these points could be worth up to an average $255.
Here are some ideas on meeting the spending requirement:
What Are ThankYou Points Worth?
The “basic” ThankYou points you earn on the Citi Rewards+® Card don’t have the same redemption power as “normal” ThankYou points. As a Rewards+ cardholder, you can only transfer your points to JetBlue (more on that later).
Other redemption options include:
- Travel booked through the ThankYou Travel center
- Merchandise at Amazon.com or BestBuy.com
- Gift cards
- Statement credits
All have a per-point value of $0.01. This valuation is neither good or bad. It’s what you would get for your points, on average, across different rewards cards.
If you want more value for your points, pair your Citi Rewards+® Card with Citi Prestige® Credit Card or Citi Premier℠ Card. Moving your Rewards+ ThankYou Points to your Prestige or Premier card account allows you to transfer to all airline partners – not just JetBlue. This boosts your per-point value to around $0.017. So the value of your Citi Rewards+® Card signup bonus increases from $150 to around $255.
Pairing the other cards with the Citi Rewards+® Card is worthwhile because of the differences in higher earning categories. The Citi Prestige® Credit Card earns higher rewards on Air Travel, Restaurants, Hotels and Cruises. The Citi Premier℠ Card earns higher on Travel (including gas stations), Restaurants and Entertainment.
Here are the transfer partners available to Citi Prestige® Credit Card and Citi Premier℠ Card cardholders.
- Aeromexico Club Premier
- Asia MilesTM
- Avianca LifeMiles
- Emirates Skywards
- Etihad Guest
- EVA Air Infinity MileageLands
- Flying Blue Air France KLM
- Jetblue TrueBlue
- Malaysia Airlines Enrich
- Qantas Frequent Flyer
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
- Thai Airways Royal Orchid Plus
- Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
- Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
The Citi Rewards+® Card is a solid choice if you have a moderate budget and most of your expenses go towards supermarkets and gas stations. There’s no annual fee and a guarantee of at least 10 points on every purchase. For increased earning and redemption power, pair the Rewards+® card with Citi Prestige® Credit Card or Citi Premier℠ Card.
If you’re a bigger spender, or you don’t make a lot of supermarket and gas station purchases, there are other rewards cards with better value.
