The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card has an offer for 60,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months from account opening. We’ll explain how you can get more value with your miles below.
The annual fee is $95. This high annual fee puts it in direct competition with the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, which also earns great rewards and has a nice sign-up bonus.
The big selling point of this card is that it earns an ongoing, unlimited 2X rate when you redeem towards travel. So, unlike a cash back credit card, you won’t get the maximum value for your rewards unless you use them for travel specific redemption. The Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card is the no-annual fee version and earns a lower rewards rate.
We’ll review the bonus offer for the Venture card below.
*Capital One also tends to offer very good banking bonuses as well.

Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card 60k Miles Bonus
Earn 60,000 bonus miles when you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months. These 60k bonus miles are worth $600 towards travel, or up to $840 if you strategize to transfer your miles to Capital One’s airline partners. More on this below.
If you think you’ll have trouble meeting the $3,000 spending requirement, below are some ideas that might help out.
What Miles Are Worth
Whether you redeem for past travel or for future travel bookings through Capital One, each mile is worth 1 cent.
The 60,000 bonus miles are going to be worth $600 if you redeem towards travel. You can redeem for past travel purchases that have been made in the last 90 days, or you can use your miles towards booking new travel.
You can use your miles to book your flight, car rental, or hotel. If you use your miles for past travel purchases, these categories of travel are eligible:
|Airlines||Hotels||Rail Lines||Car Rental Agencies||Limousine Services|
|Bus Lines||Cruise Lines||taxi cabs||Travel Agents||Time Shares|
You can also transfer your miles to Capital One’s airline partners. If you’re willing to strategize with different partner mileage programs and flight bookings, you can potentially get even more value with your miles. Get up to around 1.4 cents per mile through this process. See below for the airline partners.
|Aeromexico Club Premier||Air France KLM Flying Blue||Air Canada Aeroplan|
|Alitalia MilleMiglia Program||ALL – Accor Live Limitless||Asia Miles|
|Avianca LifeMiles||Emirates Skywards||Etihad Airways – Etihad Guest|
|EVA Air – Infinity MileageLands||Finnair – Finnair Plus||JetBlue – TrueBlue|
|Qantas – Qantas Frequent Flyer||Singapore Airlines – KrisFlyer|
The ongoing rewards rate is 2 miles for every dollar that you spend on all purchases, which equals to 2% as 100 miles is equal to $1 in travel rewards (possibly more with the transfer partners as stated above). This is a great earnings rate for a card that isn’t tied to any airline or hotel.
For people who like to travel and keep rewards simple and flexible, the Capital One Venture card is worth taking a look over. Rewards are good and there are no foreign transaction fees to worry about. For savvy travelers, the airline partners open up more valuable redemption options.
The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card received much notoriety through their marketing campaign with several celebrities.
This card has become a great option for customers seeking a simple travel rewards card where there’s no need to keep up with spending categories. There’s the annual fee to contend with after the first year, so you’ll need to be a high enough spender to negate that.
With the addition of airline transfer partners in late 2018, savvy travelers now have another nice option to choose from.
