Yotta (withyotta.com) is a free, interest-earning savings app with weekly chances to win up to $10 million. It’s an easy and fun way to build financial stability.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Americans purchase more than $71 billion in lottery tickets every year. That means each adult spends an average of $285 annually on the lotto, and yet the odds of winning (1 in 300 million) are less likely than getting struck by lightning (1 in 500,000).
Instead of throwing your hard-earned money away, why not put it in a savings account that offers interest and a weekly sweepstakes? That’s where Yotta comes into play. It’s a new way to build financial stability, providing the thrill of possibly hitting the $10 million jackpot while also earning a base 0.20% APY (Annual Percentage Yield). Keep reading for everything you need to know about Yotta.
How Yotta Works
Simply put, Yotta is a savings app where you can play for cash prizes. Members enjoy a base APY of 0.20% and can win up to a $10 million jackpot every week, as well as a variety of other rewards and bonuses.
The app is completely free to use. There is no monthly account fee and no fees for deposits and withdrawals.
The Savings Account
To open a Yotta savings account, you must be at least 18 years old and a legal U.S. resident. The app will ask for your name, physical address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number during registration, and you need to link an existing, external bank account.
Once you become a member, not only will you earn 0.20% APY on your savings, but you also get one bonus sweepstakes ticket each week for every $25 you deposit into your account and keep it there. So if you deposit $1000, you get 40 tickets every week as long as the funds remain in your account.
If you set up direct deposit, you get 5% bonus tickets on your paychecks. You can also opt for recurring deposits – weekly, biweekly, and monthly – to make it easier to save and earn free tickets.
The Weekly Cash Prizes
For every sweepstakes ticket, you get to choose seven numbers or have Yotta autofill random numbers for you. The contest begins every week on Monday and ends on Sunday. Every night at 9pm EST, a third-party company uses a random number generator to draw one number.
If the numbers on any of your tickets match with the numbers drawn during the week, you can win anywhere from $0.10 to $10 million. The more numbers you match, the more you win.
The odds of winning are very slim. But, playing is free so you have nothing to lose.
Sweepstakes prizes are deposited immediately at the end of each week. For every $25 you win, you get one bonus ticket.
To increase your chances of winning a weekly cash prize, members can participate in Pool Play. This lets you combine any or all of your tickets with other members’ tickets. The more tickets you contribute to the pool, the greater the share of winnings you’ll receive. You can form a private pool with friends and family, or you can join a public one with strangers.
The Debit Card
All members get a Mastercard debit card with access to 55,000 fee-free ATMs. Earn one bonus sweepstakes ticket for every $10 you spend on your Yotta card. Also, if you spend $2,000 in your first four months as a member, you’ll get 1,000 bonus tickets. On top of that, Yotta gives you a chance to win the item you just purchased for free (up to 1 in 100 chance of free purchase).
If you refer a friend to Yotta, you get 100 bonus sweepstakes tickets. Each of your referrals will also enjoy 100 bonus tickets. The more people who open a Yotta account using your code, the higher your referral tier and the more bonus tickets you will receive:
|Referral Tier||# Of Referrals||Tickets/Referral||One-Time Bonus||Extra Tickets Per Week|
Member funds are held by Evolve Bank & Trust and are FDIC-insured for up to $250,000. Plaid, a trusted financial services startup by Visa, handles deposits. Plus, Yotta is backed by famed startup accelerator Y-Combinator.
Yotta is best suited for those who find it hard to save money. The app provides a weekly sweepstakes that encourages you to deposit and keep funds in your account. It’s completely free to use, and the interest rate is more generous over traditional bank savings accounts.
