Is The Provident Bank Bonus Worth It?
This offer is relatively straightforward compared to many bank bonuses because:
- The opening deposit requirement is low ($50)
- No large balance requirement is needed
- The direct deposit threshold is reasonable
- No minimum balance requirement on the account itself
The main limitation is geographic eligibility, since the offer is only available to residents of NJ, NY, and PA who open the account online.

What do you mean by “Direct Deposit is optional for the bonus – can opt for ACH debit”? Does that mean I could transfer funds from my CapitalOne 360 account into this account and that would satisfy the requirement?
Terry,
The terms specifically state “direct deposit or one ACH automatic debit made to this account within 60 days of account opening”. It just has to code as an ACH debit sent from your Capital One 360 account. Sorry I can’t say for certainty the type of transfer you’re referring to will code as an ACH debit. Try sending it your intended method to another account if you have one?
