Nationwide Bank offers online Checking and Savings accounts and sometimes will have attractive bonus offers and promotions for new accounts.
Typical promotions in the past have usually been for $200 cash bonuses.
With Nationwide Bank you’ll have access to over 77,000 fee-free ATMs and you can manage your account online, over the phone, via their Mobile App, or even at an ATM itself.
You’ll still have most of the features and functionality you’d expect from any legitimate Checking account, such as free online bill payment and a free debit card. Just like other banks with modern day perks, you can deposit checks with their Mobile App as well.

Is The $200 Bonus Worth Your Time?
Well, the good news is everyone nationwide is eligible for the bonus because it’s an online only Checking account.
Bonus Requirements

- This offer is set to expire on: unfortunately, this offer has expired
- Opening this account will trigger a Soft credit inquiry, which doesn’t affect your credit score.
- Within 60 days of opening the account, you’ll have to set up a monthly direct deposit of at least $200.
- There are several reports of methods that can help you meet this direct deposit requirement (Amex Serve, Capital One 360 ACH, Fidelity, Paypal). If you’re not familiar with this, read my guide here.

Important Tips

- The E-Checking Account has a Monthly Maintenance Fee of $8. You can waive this fee by doing one of the following:
- Set up at least one direct deposit of $25 and make at least 8 debit card transactions every month, OR
- Maintain a combined average daily balance among all your Nationwide Bank deposit accounts of at least $10,000
- Important! Keep the account open for at least 90 days to receive your $200 bonus. The $200 will then get deposited into your account within 2 weeks after the 90 day requirement.
- Any ATM withdrawal you make via the AllPoint network are free. While the first 6 withdrawals from an out-of-network ATM won’t have a fee from Nationwide, the bank that owns that ATM may charge a fee.[/su_panel]
My Verdict
While not all bank bonuses require direct deposit, most in the amount of $200 or more will. On the plus side, the E-Checking account will allow for 6 non-Nationwide Bank ATM transactions each statement cycle. While it isn’t much, this account also earns interest:
