Hotels.com has announced a significant reduction in its loyalty program by replacing the existing stamp-based system with a new program called One Key, which offers 2% back on all bookings made through any of the Expedia brands, including hotels, vacation rentals, activities, packages, car rentals, and cruises.
Existing stamps will be converted to OneKey at 10% of their original value, and the changes will take effect in mid-2023.

Hotels.com, a popular travel booking website, has recently made a big change to its loyalty program that may affect its users. Previously, customers would receive a stamp for each night they stayed at a hotel booked through the website. Once they had collected ten stamps, they could redeem them for a free night stay based on the average cost of those ten nights.
However, this system is now being replaced with a new program called One Key, which is a loyalty program that includes other brands under the Expedia umbrella, such as Expedia, VRBO, Orbitz, and more.
Under the new program, customers will earn 2% back on all bookings made through any of these brands, including hotels, vacation rentals, activities, packages, car rentals, and cruises. However, they will only earn 0.2% back on flights. This means that the value of the loyalty program has been significantly reduced. These changes are set to go live in mid-2023, so they haven’t taken effect yet.
Existing customers who have already collected stamps under the old loyalty program will have their stamps converted to One Key points at 10% of their original value. This seems like a fair exchange, given that the value of a stamp is based on the price of a hotel night. However, many users are disappointed by this change and have expressed their displeasure online.
If you are a Hotels.com user, you may want to consider the impact of this devaluation on your future bookings. While you will still be able to earn rewards under the new program, the value of those rewards will be significantly lower than before. If you are looking for a travel booking website that offers better rewards or a more generous loyalty program, you may want to consider alternatives to Hotels.com.

You mean “100%” of the stamps’ original value, don’t you?
