What Counts as a Qualifying Direct Deposit?

For this promotion, Guardian specifically requires electronic payroll deposits made by an employer.

The $2,500 does not have to arrive as a single deposit. Multiple qualifying payroll deposits can be combined to reach the $2,500 monthly requirement.

Other electronic deposits and person-to-person transfers do not qualify.

This is important because Guardian’s regular direct deposit service may accept Social Security, pensions, retirement payments and other electronic deposits, but the $300 promotional offer specifically requires qualifying payroll direct deposits from an employer.

When Will the $300 Bonus Post?

Guardian will deposit the $300 bonus into your qualifying checking account within 15 business days following the end of your second qualifying month.

For example, if you receive at least $2,500 in qualifying payroll direct deposits in September and another $2,500 in October, Guardian says the bonus will be paid within the first 15 business days of November.

Your checking account must remain open and in good standing when the bonus is paid.

The main drawback is the relatively high direct deposit requirement. You’ll need $5,000 in total qualifying payroll direct deposits, consisting of at least $2,500 per month for two consecutive months.
