Fine Print

Refer a Friend Requirements

• Refer a Friend cash bonus offer valid for a limited time only.
• To refer someone, the existing member (“Advocate”) must be the owner of a consumer Columbia Credit Union checking account.
• New member (“Friend”) must use the Referral Link provided to enroll in the program.
• New members cannot be a tax reported owner on an account within the last 12 months.
• Advocate and Friend cannot begin Credit Union membership on the same day.

Account Opening Criteria

• Must be 18 years or older and meet Columbia Credit Union’s membership eligibility and credit qualifications as detailed in the Membership and Account Agreement (which includes the Electronic Services Agreement), Rate Schedule and Fee Schedule provided at account opening.

Cash Bonus Criteria

• To receive the cash bonus, the new checking account must meet the following criteria within the first 60 days:
  • 1. Have a direct deposit of $500 or more.
  • 2. Account cannot be overdrawn or closed at the time of bonus payment. Bonus will be deposited into the qualifying checking account within 10 business days of meeting qualifications.
• The value of your reward may be reported to the IRS on a 1099-INT for you and your Friend.
• Reward recipients are responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes.
• Terms and conditions subject to change without notice.

Bottom Line

Not the best referral bonus but the requirement is easy to meet.
