• How to earn it: Set up a Direct Deposit of $500 or more per month and use your debit card 25+ times in the first 3 months, then you’ll earn $200.

Fine Print

• Offer Period: Valid from May 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023.

• Workplace Partner Program: Available exclusively for employees of organizations participating in the American Heritage Credit Union Workplace Partner Program.
• Bonus Criteria: To earn the bonus, set up a direct deposit totaling $500 or more in each of the three full statement cycles following the month of account opening, receiving $75 per statement cycle, for a maximum bonus of $225. An additional $75 bonus is granted when 30 or more cumulative debit card transactions occur during the first three full statement cycles following account opening.
• Bonus Example: For an account opened in May 2023, the accountholder must have cumulative direct deposits of $500 or more in June, July, and August 2023, along with at least 30 debit card purchases during those months to qualify.
• Bonus Award: Bonuses will be awarded at the end of the 90-day promotional period.
• Transaction Eligibility: Bonus eligibility is based on purchases only; ATM withdrawals are not considered.
• Invitation Only: Offer is valid for specified checking accounts and is by invitation only.
• Offer Flexibility: American Heritage reserves the right to cancel, modify, or extend this offer at any time without notice.
• Membership Requirement: The member must be in good standing with a minimum $15 deposit in the primary share account.
• Tax Responsibility: Members receiving incentives may be responsible for paying taxes on the incentives.
• Promotion Limit: Not combinable with other promotions, and there’s a limit of one offer per household.
• Employee and Account Restrictions: Employees and their family members, as well as business and fiduciary accounts, are not eligible.

My Impression of the Offer

The CU had previously offered a $200 bonus and $100 before that, so in comparison this is a much more enticing offer. If you’re looking for a larger bank, Chase is offering $200 for a new checking account.
