- Step 1 – Open a new checking with a debit card and eStatements within 10 days of account opening and receive a $25 bonus
- Step 2 – Complete step 1 and complete 25 debit card transactions (excluding ATM withdrawals) within 90 days of account opening and receive a $25 bonus
- Step 3 – Complete step 1 and step 2 and do one of the following to get a $50 bonus:

How To Earn The Bonus
Complete the following 3 steps:
- Step 1 – Open a new checking with a debit card and eStatements within 10 days of account opening and receive a $25 bonus
- Step 2 – Complete step 1 and complete 25 debit card transactions (excluding ATM withdrawals) within 90 days of account opening and receive a $25 bonus
- Step 3 – Complete step 1 + step 2 and do one of the following to get a $50 bonus:
- Add direct deposit within 90 days of account opening
- Open a new loan ($5,000 minimum) within 90 days of account opening
They offer a free checking account with no monthly fees.
- Debit card and e-statement enrollment must be completed within 10 days of new checking account opening.
- Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security) from your employer or the government. Person to Person payments are not considered a direct deposit.
- Checking offer is not available to SOCU members with existing primary checking or those whose previous checking accounts have been closed within 180 days.
- Business accounts not eligible for this promotion.
- Employees and members of household are not eligible for this promotion.
- After you have completed each subsequent step of the checking requirements, SOCU will deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days of meeting that requirement.
- Limit one bonus per primary member.
- If the checking account is closed by the member within six months after opening, SOCU will deduct the bonus amounts at closing.
Bottom Line
This offer is not competitive, especially given all of the requirements to earn the bonus.
