The only hotel in the Dallas Arts District, the HALL Arts Hotel is a work of art in and of itself. The 11-story boutique retreat by Kathryn and Craig Hall reflects and complements the neighborhood vibe with modern, design-forward spaces, posh guestrooms, and a scenic rooftop pool with soaring city views. Even the in-house restaurant’s menu is as carefully curated as the hotel’s collection of impactful art.

As soon as we stepped foot into the HALL Arts Hotel, we were welcomed by an array of thought-provoking artwork. The crisp and clean design of the space laid the perfect foundation to display the pieces by established and emerging artists. There were pink and red tambourines dangling from the ceiling, filled with quotes from prominent women throughout history. The emphasis on original art carried throughout the property, from the neon sculptures outside the conference center to the original photos in our room and the sweeping mosaic in the outdoor dining space.
The HALL Arts Hotels impressively offers 28 types of rooms and suites, all designed by HKS Architects with interiors by Bentel & Bentel. Each high-tech and art-filled space seamlessly blends beauty with practicality.
Our HALL Supreme King Room came with curated photography of the Arts District, custom furnishings and gorgeous views of the city. Frette linens, plush robes, in-room coffee and tea and a mini-fridge made us feel at home, while the individual steamer and complimentary WiFi were thoughtful touches. Our spacious bathroom was furnished with dual master sinks, a huge shower, separate toilet stall, luxe towels and Natura Bissé bath products by La Bottega.
We spent an afternoon at the hotel’s rooftop pool, soaking up the warm Texas sun and relaxing with stunning skyline views. The 2,900-square-foot fitness center boasted floor-to-ceiling windows, Matrix and TRX equipment, along with Peloton cycling machines.
The hotel also housed 6,000 square feet of event space, and the chauffeured house car was available to take us anywhere within a five-mile radius.
Food & Drink
Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all available at the onsite restaurant, lounge and terrace, Ellie’s. Chef Eric Dryer, Oprah Winfrey’s former personal chef, headed the eatery, serving up seasonal American cuisine made with farm-fresh ingredients. Standout dishes included the cinnamon roll waffles for breakfast, the infamous Ellie’s burger for lunch and the Niman Ranch pork chop for dinner.
The service at the HALL Arts Hotel was absolutely faultless. We never once touched the front door during our stay and enjoyed a glass of HALL wine from Napa Valley at check in. Staff were incredibly accommodating, attending to our needs promptly. The service at Ellie’s was particularly outstanding with servers anticipating our every need and desire.
Located in the Dallas Arts District, HALL Arts Hotel was just steps away from Pritzker Prize-winning architecture, exceptional artwork in various forms and acclaimed eateries. There was plenty to do within walking distance, including a visit to the Cathedral Shrine of the Virgin Guadalupe, exploring the Nasher Sculpture Center, strolling through Klyde Warren Park, seeing a show at the Winspear Opera House, checking out the Dallas Museum of Art and so much more.
Address: 1717 Leonard Street, Dallas.
With most of the Dallas Arts District attractions within walking reach, luxurious accommodations, top-notch amenities and an impressive collection of inspiring art, a stay at the HALL Arts Hotel is a no-brainer if you’re coming to the city to immerse yourself in some performing and visual arts.
