Citibank Bonus: Up To $5,000 Savings Offer
- What you’ll get: Up To $5,000 bonus
- Where it’s available: New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, California, Nevada or select markets in Illinois and Florida.
- How to earn it: Existing Citibank customers can earn $100 – $5,000 when opening a new eligible Citi Savings Account and completing required activities.
- Enroll and open a new Citi Savings Account
- Deposit New-to-Citibank Funds into your new savings account within 20 days of account opening. The balance on your 20th day will determine your maximum eligible cash bonus.
- Maintain the required Minimum Balance for an additional 60 days from the 21st day.
- The cash bonus will be deposited to your open, eligible savings account within 30 calendar days after you complete all required activities.
- Bonus tiers are as follows:

Fine Print
You can apply to participate in the Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer if you are at least 18 years old and a new or existing Citibank customer.
U.S. persons must furnish or have a valid IRS Form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) on file with Citibank, and foreign individuals must furnish or have a valid IRS Form W-8BEN (Certificate of Foreign Status of Beneficial Owner for United States Tax Withholding and Reporting (Individuals)) on file with Citibank. Additionally, the account must not be subject to backup withholding.
Here are the required activities to qualify:
First: Open a Citi Savings Account.
Open a new Citi Savings Account
- Only certain “Savings Accounts” are eligible for the Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer. Any Citi Savings Account opened during the Offer Period that you continue to own until the end of the Maintenance Period in any Citibank account package can qualify for the offer. Savings Accounts must be opened in a branch or use a residential address in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, California, Nevada or select markets in Illinois and Florida.
- Citi Accelerate Savings accounts do not qualify for this offer.
- Savings Accounts that are living trust accounts and custodial accounts are eligible, but other trust accounts do not qualify for this offer.
- Fiduciary, estate, business, and retirement accounts (IRAs, SEPs, CESAs, money purchase pension plans and profit-sharing plans) do not qualify for this offer.
- Savings accounts in the Citi Private Bank, International Personal Bank, or Citi Alliance are not eligible for this offer.
Second: Enroll.
Enroll in the Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer on the same day you open the new Citi Savings Account. You can enroll online by clicking “enroll now” and following the instructions for online account opening. You can also contact a Citibank representative by phone or in a branch and ask the representative to enroll you in the Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer. However, if you open your account on citi.com by any other means, you will not be eligible to earn the Get Rewarded for Saving More Bonus Offer.
- New Citigold Private Client relationship customers should speak with a Wealth Relationship Manager or visit a branch to enroll.
Third: Deposit.
On the 20th Day after you open your account, we will check your “On Deposit” balance in New-to-Citibank Funds, which will determine the Maximum Bonus you can potentially earn (“Balance”).
- If you open your new savings account over the phone and do not opt in to receive disclosures digitally during that call, we will look at the 30th calendar day after account opening to determine your Maximum Bonus.
- “New-to-Citibank Funds” are funds deposited from accounts external to Citibank, N.A. and deposited using 1) “Enhanced Direct Deposit, 2) checks, or 3) wire transfers.
- Cash deposits, Citi Global Transfers, Citi debit cards, transfers between Citibank accounts, do not qualify as New-to-Citibank Funds.
- An Enhanced Direct Deposit is an electronic deposit through the Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) Network of payroll, pension, social security, government benefits and other payments to your checking, savings, or MMA account. An Enhanced Direct Deposit also includes all deposits via Zelle and other P2P payments when made via ACH using providers such as Venmo or PayPal.
- So long as the deposit does not pre-date the opening of the Savings Account, New-to-Citibank Funds can be deposited into a checking account in the same package as the Savings Account and transferred to the Savings Account before the 20th or 30th day.
- As applicable, if your 20th or 30th day falls on a Non-Business Day, we will count the first Business Day after your 20th or 30th Day.
Fourth: Maintain your Balance.
As long as you maintain at least a $10,000 Balance Level every day for 60 consecutive calendar days in your eligible Savings Account starting on the 21st day after your 20th Day (“Maintenance Period”), you will remain eligible for a Bonus, but please understand if your Balance falls into a lower Balance Level for even one day during the Maintenance Period, your Maximum Bonus will change (see Chart). For example, if your Balance on the 20th Day is $250,000, the Bonus you can potentially earn is $1,000. If your Balance is $50,000 on day 45, however, the Bonus you can earn changes to $250.

Fifth: Keep your Savings Account Open until you are paid.
To remain eligible, your Savings Account must remain open and in good standing from the time it’s opened until you receive your Bonus. Your Bonus will be paid to your Savings Account within 30 days after you successfully complete all required activities.
Multiple Offers
The Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer is a savings account offer. Savings Accounts may only be used to fulfill the Get Rewarded for Saving More Offer once per Offer Period. Unless expressly prohibited in another offer, when multiple savings account offers are available within an offer period, customers may participate in more than one savings account offer during an offer period. However, customers can participate in each savings account offer only once per offer period. If an eligible customer enrolls in multiple savings account offers during an offer period, the requirements of each offer must be met separately.

Bottom Line
This is a big bonus opportunity, and the maximum bonus amount has increased from $3,500 to $5,000 for the same deposit amount. But, the highest offer will require a $1,000,000 deposit.
